How Do I Retrieve Data From a Keylogger?

Retrieval depends on the device family — over Wi-Fi in a browser for AirDrive, or as a USB flash drive for KeyGrabber and SerialGhost. Here's how each works.

How you read back captured data depends on which device family you're using.

AirDrive (Wi-Fi)

  1. Power the device (it stays inline with the keyboard).
  2. On a phone, tablet or laptop, connect to the device's Wi-Fi access point.
  3. Open the built-in address in any browser to view or download the log.

Pro and Max models can also e-mail reports on a schedule or stream keystrokes live to an IP address, so you never need to connect manually.

KeyGrabber / SerialGhost (Flash drive)

  1. Unplug the device and connect it to any computer.
  2. Switch it to flash-drive mode (a key combination or built-in switch, per the model).
  3. It mounts as a standard USB mass-storage device — open the log file like any other.

No drivers and no software are required on either side.

Timestamps

If you need the exact date and time of each keystroke, choose a TimeKeeper model. Its battery-backed real-time clock records timestamps independently of the host computer's clock — useful for evidence that must stand on its own.
