FAQ

Answers to common questions about AirDrive, KeyGrabber and SerialGhost devices.

Compatibility

Can a Hardware Keylogger Capture a Laptop's Built-in Keyboard?

No. Hardware keyloggers only capture external keyboards connected over USB. Built-in laptop keyboards cannot be reached.

Do Hardware Keyloggers Work With Apple Mac Keyboards?

Only with wired Mac keyboards, and only using a Mac-compatible model. Internal laptop keyboards and the Mac wireless series are never captured.

Do Hardware Keyloggers Work With Wireless Keyboards?

Yes, with standard USB-dongle wireless keyboards — including the Logitech Unifying receiver. Bluetooth and Mac wireless keyboards are not supported.

My Keyboard Isn't Being Logged at All

Most keyboards run in USB low-speed mode, which our standard devices cover. A minority run in full-speed mode and need a full-speed-capable keylogger instead.

Why Doesn't My Gaming Keyboard Log Correctly?

Gaming keyboards (Corsair, Razer, Logitech G-series and others) use a proprietary protocol by default that can confuse a keylogger. Switching them to standard USB HID mode fixes it.

Setup & Troubleshooting

How Do I Retrieve Data From a Keylogger?

Retrieval depends on the device family — over Wi-Fi in a browser for AirDrive, or as a USB flash drive for KeyGrabber and SerialGhost. Here's how each works.

How Do I Set the Correct Keyboard Layout?

Download the matching layout file and place the layout.usb file in the device's root folder so the log reads back in the right characters.

I Can't Connect to the AirDrive Wi-Fi. What Should I Check?

The AirDrive hosts an open Wi-Fi network whose name starts with AIR_. Connect to it, then open 192.168.4.1 in a browser to reach the log and settings.

My KeyGrabber Doesn't Show Up as a Flash Drive

To switch a KeyGrabber into flash-drive mode, press K, B, S together — simultaneously, not in sequence — on the physical keyboard attached to the logger.

Security

Are Hardware Keyloggers Detectable by Antivirus?

Because a hardware keylogger runs entirely outside the operating system, antivirus and endpoint software cannot see it. Detection is a physical inspection question.

Reference

How Are Special Keys Shown in the Log?

Non-printable keys such as Enter, Backspace, the function keys and arrows appear in the log as short bracketed tags like [Ent], [Bck] and [F5].

Orders & Billing

How Long Does Delivery Take?

Express shipping usually arrives in 1–3 business days; tracked standard post takes around 3–5. Add one day of handling to either estimate.

What Payment Methods Can I Use?

We accept credit cards (including American Express), Skrill, and bank transfer. PayPal is currently unavailable for keylogger purchases.

What Warranty Do the Devices Carry?

Every device carries a standard 1-year warranty, and we continue to help beyond that period if you can return the unit to our production facility.
