How Do I Reset the Device to Factory Settings?

Both KeyGrabber and AirDrive can be restored to factory defaults with a key sequence typed on the attached keyboard. This erases all memory, including settings and the log.

Both families can be restored to factory defaults. In every case the sequence must be typed on the physical USB keyboard attached to the logger, with the logger plugged into a USB port.

Warning: a factory reset erases all memory — settings and the recorded log.

KeyGrabber

  1. Connect power and a keyboard to the device.
  2. Press the keys N, P, S together (simultaneously) several times.
  3. Wait about 2 minutes.
  4. Remove the device from power, then plug it back in.

The factory access password is restored to K, B, S. If it doesn't work the first time, repeat a few times, then try on a different computer and keyboard.

AirDrive

  1. Connect power and a keyboard to the device.
  2. Type the sequence v s n l p b — no spaces, no shift, all lower-case — several times for certainty.
  3. Remove the device from power, then plug it back in.

Factory settings are restored. If it fails, repeat, then try a different computer and keyboard.

Bottom line

Type the reset sequence on the attached keyboard, wait, and power-cycle. Remember that everything stored on the device is wiped.
